How it works

Three steps, no account, no software to install.

  1. Drop your image

Drag and drop a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP file, click the box to browse, or paste straight from your clipboard with Ctrl+V (Cmd+V on a Mac). Files up to 15 MB are fine.

  2. Pick a mode and fine-tune

Choose Logo / Icon, Illustration, Photo, Black & White or Pixel art, then adjust colors, detail and smoothness. Small, blurry or noisy images usually come out best with upscale and noise reduction switched on.

  3. Download your SVG

Compare the vector with the original using the slider, then download the SVG or export a PNG. The file opens in Figma, Inkscape, Illustrator, browsers and any print workflow.

Why Convertars

Everything you need to turn a bitmap into a sharp vector, nothing you do not.

Free forever

No trial period, no credits, no subscription and no paywall. Every conversion is free to use.

No watermark

You get plain vector geometry — no badge, no attribution line, no hidden generator metadata.

No sign-up

No account, no email, no card — just drop an image and download the SVG. Nothing to activate, nothing to cancel, and no newsletter waiting afterwards.

Color & black-and-white modes

Color mode traces multi-color artwork, illustrations and photos; Black & White mode delivers crisp one-color outlines for logos, stamps, signatures and line art.

Upscale & denoise

Small thumbnails, screenshots and noisy scans can be upscaled up to 4× and cleaned up before tracing, so the curves come out smooth instead of jagged.

Clean, editable SVG

Optimized paths, a proper viewBox and no raster leftovers: recolor and reshape the result in Figma, Inkscape, Illustrator or directly in the code.

Frequently asked questions

What is an SVG, and why would I want a vector version of my image?

SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) describes an image as shapes and curves instead of pixels. It stays perfectly sharp at any size — from a 16 px favicon to a poster — and the file is usually far smaller than a high-resolution PNG. Because every shape is an editable path, you can also recolor, resize or restyle parts of it later.

Which images convert best?

Logos, icons, badges, stickers, lettering, line art, stamps, signatures, screenshots and flat illustrations convert best, because they have few colors and clear edges. Photos always lose some detail when traced: they turn into a stylized, poster-like version of themselves, which is often exactly what you want, but never a photographic copy.

Is it really free?

Yes — completely free, with no account, no trial, no credit card and no watermark. The five modes are all included, nothing is metered or unlocked by paying, the site is ad-free, and donations are entirely optional.

What happens to my image?

Your upload and the SVG we send back are kept on our server for up to 30 days to help improve Convertars, then deleted automatically. They are never sold and never shared with anyone, and they are not used for anything else. The privacy policy (/privacy) lists exactly what is stored and how to have it removed.

What is the file size limit?

15 MB per image, up to 40 megapixels. That covers virtually every PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP you will come across. If a scan is larger than that, crop or resize it first and convert again.

Which mode should I choose?

Pick Logo / Icon for flat logos, badges and icons with a few solid colors, Illustration for stickers, posters and flat art with more colors, Photo for photographic images you want stylized, Black & White for scans, stamps, signatures and pure line art, and Pixel art when hard square edges matter more than smooth curves.

Can I edit the SVG in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma?

Yes. The output is standard SVG with a viewBox and ordinary paths, so it opens in Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer, Figma, Sketch or any browser, and you can edit the paths and colors like in any other vector file.

Can I use the result commercially?

Yes. The rights to your image stay with you and we claim none over the output — use it in logos, products, print, client work or merchandise. Just make sure you own or are licensed to use the original image in the first place.
